Moneasa is a picturesque resort town in Arad County, Romania, nestled at the foot of the Codru-Moma Mountains. Known as the “Pearl of the Apuseni,” it is famous for its thermal waters, natural beauty, and tranquil atmosphere. The town has been a spa destination since 1866, offering treatments for neurological, rheumatic, and metabolic conditions. The thermal springs, rich in bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium, and sodium, are used for balneotherapy and relaxation.
Numerous trails wind through lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and striking limestone formations. Peak Izoiu (1,098 m) is a lesser-known yet stunning hiking destination, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. The trail is challenging due to its elevation gain of 920 meters.
